The World According To Lotty: British Black Metal Documentary Review

Over the past few days there was a documentary being shared amongst my friends within the metal community. It was a documentary about British Black Metal where interviews with bands took place alongside music videos and live footage from their shows.

I have been apart of the community for several years now and find myself still learning about the different aspects of the culture. Black Metal helped me delve deeper into metal and personally when reviewing albums, Black Metal is one of my favourite sub-genres to write about. Since you can so creative with the language and it’s deeply interesting.

The documentary only heightened my interest and respect for this genre; it was interesting to hear musician’s perspective on this almost legendary genre.  From gaining inspiration for their lyrics by wondering around ruins and researching into past events to their atmospheric live shows these bands take the viewer through the phases and history of this genre.

For me personally this was an inspiring and fascinating documentary, as an avid supporter of underground metal this was a treat. A must watch for metal fans, particularly extreme metal.
