Internationally acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist Jo Quail has shared the video for ‘The Breathing Hand (Live)’.  A live performance with the choir of Cappella Gedanensis and Alicja Lach-Owsiany, conducted by Jos Pijnappel.

‘The Breathing Hand (Live)’ features on the deluxe vinyl reissue of ‘Five Incantations’ which is set for release on 20th November (Adderstone Records) Jo comments, ‘The Breathing Hand is the second track from Five Incantations, and it explores the element of Air. Originally for cello quartet, I orchestrated this for performance by the choir of Cappella Gedanensis, cellist Alicja Lach-Owsiany and myself. Poet Mohan Rana wrote ‘The Crossing’ as a response to this music. Origianlly written in Hindi, this was then translated to English and then in to Polish, and I set his beautiful poetry within the phrases of the music.  This is the premiere performance of this version of ‘The Breathing Hand’ and it’s live from Gdansk, Poland.’
