We are now into February, and Spring has arrived. This is not only the start of rebirth, rejuvenation, resurrection and regrowth in Nature but something we can all embrace physically and mentally too. With the long nights becoming shorter and also being able to enjoy getting out and about again. It means it is also time for a new Rock Out Stand Playlist! This edition features a mix of classic tracks and the latest offerings from a wide array of bands both old and new.
We begin this edition of the playlist in honour of the late, great Eddie Van Halen who would have celebrated his 67th Birthday recently and have selected the legendary VAN HALEN track Eruption to start things off.
Speaking of birthdays and anniversaries these past two weeks:
DEF LEPPARD celebrate 45 years of existence, so a classic track of theirs has been selected.
Another 45th Anniversary comes in the form of FLEETWOOD MAC’s Rumours album and a classic, iconic track from this album has been included.
AVANTASIA celebrated two album anniversaries this past fortnight (The Scarecrow and Ghostlights) so a track from each has been included.
STRATOVARIUS celebrates 19 years since Elements Part 1 was released and the title track has been included.
THERION celebrate a year since Leviathan was released and we have included the title track in this edition of the playlist.
It is also 49 years since KISS performed their first ever concert! Believe it or not, this show only consisted of 10 people in the audience! How things have changed for the band from such humble beginnings. We honour the group with a staple of the bands resume that was also performed at that debut show.
ANGELWINGS vocalist Divi Angelwings, FALSE MEMORIES vocalist Rossella Moscatello, Michael Kiske of HELLOWEEN and Mike Patton of FAITH NO MORE have recently celebrated their birthdays, so we have included a track from each of these bands.
