Hello and welcome back to the Rock Out Stand Out Playlist. This month there’s a lot new music available to invalid your earbuds from Power Metal to Hardrock. There are also a couple of exciting tours that have been announced which I’ll get into later.
Starting off with new albums, two of the most notable releases (at least for me) are from Swedish Power Metal outlet DYNAZTY and German supergroup AVANTASIA. AVANTASIA’s latest release is as on the noise as it gets for Power Metal, simply titled Here Be Dragons. The latest single, The Witch featuring KAMELOT’s Tommy Karevik, is just a taste of what’s to expect from this magical album. DYNAZTY’s album, A Game of Faces, is a classic Power Metal trip with a modern twist, influenced from vocalist Nil’s Moilin’s work with AMARANTHE. Speaking of AMARANTHE, they’ve announced a tour with symphonic metal group EPICA in the UK and Europe next year.
Other notable album releases include retro rocker THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, whose latest offering Give Us The Moon provides the nostalgia trip you may be seeking in these challenging times, and if you want pure escapism, MAJESTICA’S Power Train is available to listen to now.
If these albums aren’t enough, there’s also a couple of new singles to explore including German medieval themed band FEUERSCHWANZ called Knightclub, THOSE DAMN CROWS’s Dreaming, and TALES OF TIME’s, The Journey. Gothic rocker WEDNESDAY 13 has also released a new single, When the Devil Commands.
Finally, there’s a couple of birthdays to celebrate, most notably, metal legend OZZY OSBOURNE, who will be finishing up his inspirational career with BLACK SABBATH, at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham (also Ozzy’s football club). We’re also celebrating VISIONS OF ATLANTIS’S, Clémentine Delauney’s birthday, as well as Liv Kristine’s (former LEAVES’ EYES), and HAMMERFALL’S Joacim Cans.
