I have been wanting to write something about the most recent news that has shaken many people alike within the Rock and Metal community. It is now common knowledge that AMERICAN HEADCHARGE bassist Chad Hanks sadly passed away at the weekend after battling a terminal illness.
Two days later and it’s still a little painful to see the different news headlines popping up with the news.
I only met him the one time a few years ago when AMERICAN HEADCHARGE supported SOIL on their UK tour. I had only come across the band that day when covering the show for a webzine and my friend Raven had been a longtime fan so I could see how much it meant to meet the driving force behind the music. We both warmed to him straight away; I honestly remember him being one of the most polite, well spoken and all round genuine guys I had ever had the pleasure of meeting. From only that one meeting, he had made an impact on us and those around him.
My thoughts go out to his family, friends and fans. RIP Mr Hanks and may you continue to rock on in heaven.
