Are you prepared? You should be. German Melodic Death Metal troupe IN SANITY are about to unleash chaos and pandemonium with their upcoming album Welcome To The Show. The title alone is enough to pique anyone’s curiosity and the album comes down on your hard.
Welcome To The Show was recorded produced in the Greenman Studios by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (ORDEN OGAN, RHAPSODY, ALAMANAC). In the press release, it states their music is always forward and directly in your face. It’s very fair to say that this album upholds this bold claim.
The album doesn’t beat around the bush, it gets straight down to business with the opening track The Stendhal Syndrome. Most recently; scientists have been trying to establish if there is such thing as this syndrome, which is particularly noticeable when exposed to great art. After having listened to this track and the rest of the album, I do wonder that myself as this album is a great work of art.
The album contains some hard-hitting melodies that will no doubt stay with you hours, days or even weeks after listening to them. The guitar work on this album is outstanding, the finger blistering solos and riffs will have you practicing air guitar wherever you happen to be. Amongst all this heaviness, there is brilliant lyrical content if you listen very carefully.
With a title like Welcome To The Show, it can start off in a few ways. One of those being a circus or carnival tune, which is exactly what happens here. You will feel like you are in this kind of environment, heading towards the scariest attraction. This track consists of brilliant guitar work, prevailing vocals and hard-hitting beats. These elements of the track will remind you of the haunted house or ghost train. Like most tracks with word like show in the title, it will bring out your inner show off having crowds at your feet.
Alongside Welcome To The Show, New World Order is one of my personal favourite tracks on the album. It gets off to an interesting start before leading into a bombastic melody that makes you feel ready to conquer anything that gets in your way. This inner strength in the song is reinforced by the prevailing vocal work, finger blistering guitar work and thunderous beats.
The title Dance Of The Jackals is already intriguing and the musical arrangements perfectly matches this title. Dance Of The Jackals does not mess around, you are hit instantly with sheer brutality from the verses. The chorus with the clean vocals gives that indication of the dance part. Along with the other tracks, it keeps up the brilliant guitar work and perfect balance of harsh and clean vocals.
The crazy sounds of Hellward Bound mark the end of a great performance. You know it’s the end of the show yet you are hankering for more and want to experience the whole thing again. The signs of a great closing number.
Long-time fans of the band will notice that their sound has grown and developed over the years. For those who are new to the band: Welcome To The Show!

Welcome To The Show will be unleashed via Black Sunset/MDD this Friday.
