Skyblazer – Infinity’s Wings
It was a close call between a few albums but my choice for album of the month is SKYBLAZER’s debut Infinity’s Wings.
I was sent a review copy of this album before the year had begun and I was taking my usual festive break from Rock Out Stand Out duties for the year. Before I took that break; I was heavily feeling the negative effects of imposter syndrome with regards to my work as a journalist and my ability to run this website. I was even beginning to wonder if Rock Out Stand Out would even continue after I had finished this break.
Then it happened…those first few words of narration in Prologue to a backing of sci-fi sounds. It spoke to me, it knew what I was going through. It was the perfect build up to the first full length track Shine Forth, the encouraging lyrics in this track gave me that kick up the backside I needed to carry on with power and oomph. This empowering lyrics and equally uplifting music arrangements can be heard in tracks such as Eyes Of Serenity, Turning Time and the power metal fan’s dream track Eternalise The Dream.
This album gave me a much needed kick up the backside to get out of that negative cycle that was going around in my mind and to come back with that confidence. This is why I have chosen this as my album of the month.
