Ever wondered what the music from 8 bit video games, 80s pop, black metal and dubstep blended together would sound like? I bet you’re trying to picture how it was sound whilst reading the question, well look no further as there is a new music project who has released a single that sounds just like this and makes it work.
The project in question is RUNEREADER and the single they have released is On Your Battered Altar. At the moment, there isn’t a lot of information about RUNEREADER on their socials as they are still very brand new; all we do know is there will be an EP coming in Summer time.
Now onto the single itself; the moment you press play, you are already guessing what could be coming around the corner. The single has been out for nearly a few weeks and if you haven’t heard this yet, I don’t want to give too much away. What I will say is that there won’t be anywhere else where you will hear piercing black metal shrieks along to a melody that wouldn’t be out of place in Castlevania. I should also mention that it’s done incredibly well.
One more thing to note: this music is extremely catchy. It will pop up in your head at random times, often when you least expect it. If you’re mildly intrigued, give this single a listen and stay tuned for more updates.
