ROCK OUT STAND OUT PLAYLIST – 04.09.2021

Summer has now vanished into the ether and Autumn marks a season of change. The days start to draw in and Winter looms ever closer on the horizon. As dusk arrives earlier, let Rock Out Stand Out keep you warm with the latest edition of the Rock Out Stand Out Playlist!

With it being the end of August, we fittingly begin the playlist with the 36 CRAZYFISTS track At The End of August.

We have new singles and albums respectively from the likes of HALESTORM, ICE NINE KILLS, SEVEN SISTERS, RAGE, BE’LAKOR, ZEAL & ARDOR, FEEDER, SHADOWSTRIKE, BEAST IN BLACK, THE RASMUS & APOCALYPTICA, GUS G., AD INFINITUM, ENEMY INSIDE and RHAPSODY OF FIRE. The respective single or album track is featured from each of these artists.

Everyone’s favourite Demon Gene Simmons of KISS celebrated his 72nd birthday last week so we have included the live symphonic version of God of Thunder from the KISS SYMPHONY: ALIVE IV album.

Metal god Rob Halford celebrated his 70th birthday recently so have included the classic JUDAS PRIEST track Breaking The Law.

More birthdays this past fortnight and over the next couple of days for Serj Tankian (SYSTEM OF A DOWN), Robert Plant (LED ZEPPELIN), Vivian Campbell (DEF LEPPARD), Kim Thayil (SOUNDGARDEN)and a posthumous birthday for Layne Staley (ALICE IN CHAINS) so we have included a track from each of these bands in the playlist.

An eventful month for EDGUY as there has been no fewer than three birthdays (Jens Ludwig, Dirk Sauer & Felix Bohnke) and an album anniversary for their AGE OF THE JOKER album so we have included a track from that release.

Album anniversaries this past fortnight for SLIPKNOT, PAPA ROACH, ROB ZOMBIE and EDEN’S CURSE so they also feature within the playlist.

We mark the passing of the legendary Charlie Watts of the ROLLING STONES who peacefully passed away on the 24th of August so have included the classic Gimme Shelter in his honour.

The 24th of August is also the anniversary of Sophie Lancaster who tragically passed away after being a victim of an unprovoked attack back in 2007. The Rock Out Stand Out Team selected albums that helped us to feel proud to be who we are for our respective Album of the Month choices. In relation to this we also honour her memory with the song We Are the Others by DELAIN which was inspired by Sophie.

We bring the playlist to a close in honour of what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 75th birthday this coming Sunday (5th September) and have selected the classic QUEEN track Bohemian Rhapsody.

That is it for this list. Take care, stay safe and see you on the next one.
